Atacama Desert is referred to as the direst region in the world which lies in the Pacific Coast of Chile and borders Bolivia and Peru. This desert is worth and amazing to visit since it appears like the most beautiful planet Mars. This desert is stretched on the thousand kilometers of strip between the Pacific Coast and Andes. On the side of Pacific Coast the Humboldt Stream flows is very cold and does not evaporate whereas the peaks of Andes on the other side reach to a height of around six thousand meters. In some of the parts of Atacama Desert there was no water for almost four hundred years. However, in some parts it rains every six to ten years because of the El Nino. There is a small village in the sanctuary of San Pedro de Atacama with two thousand inhabitants. This desert is famous and rich for nitrates, gold, silver and copper. There are even several ghost towns in this desert like Santa Laura and Chacambuco. However, there are even some interesting things to admire such as the flamingoes, active volcanoes, geysers and green emerald lakes.
